Free parcels for service personnel
Royal Mail have announced that they will continue to carry free of charge parcels to service personnel who are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Postwatch might normally question how a “free” service was being financed, but we understand the importance of a postal service and what it must mean to serving personnel to receive messages and packages from their loved ones.

Sorry, but do not get caught by the political points scoring and emotional rubbish over this. I think you SHOULD question how this is being financed. When I worked with the forces in Germany and Cyprus, the deal was that forces personnel overseas could have mail sent to them at UK rates, ie as if they lived in the UK. They could also send return mail at the same cost.
