Peace at last?
It looks as if the long-running dispute between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union is now over. Both parties have just issued statements on their agreement.

On behalf of long-suffering customers, Postwatch hopes that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible throughout the country and that the implementation of the new working practices will not cause any further disruption. Royal Mail and its staff will have to work hard to restore the damaged reputation of the company and to win back the confidence of customers.

There may be peace but how long before the backlog is cleared. I understand that six 40 foot trailers at Nine Elms (South London Mail Centre) have post in them from the strike period still untouched.
Standard parcels and packets are still taking over a week to get through the system.
As at 11.1.07 three parcels posted on the 10th of October still not delivered. Is it maybe time to do away with Royal Mail ? Or just time to have some competent staff running the thing ?
Yes, I'm still waiting for a packet posted at Mount Pleasant on 20th October. Royal Mail says we should allow 15 Working Days for delivery.
Is Postwatch doing anything about this for mail users?
