Opening of new post offices

Tomorrow we can expect to hear a Government statement confirming the proposed closure of some 2,500 post offices nation-wide. But, while sadly the total number of post offices has been in decline for some 20 years, there have still been new offices opened.

In a recent Parliamentary Answer, DTI Minister Jim Fitzpatrick gave these figures for new offices:
